Over the last year at The Big Swing we have been working tirelessly and hard to get all our grounds,structures and opportunity for play repaired/replaced if needed, unfortunately we have very limited funds left and we need your help.

As many of you know the Adventure playground has been around for a very long time and you may have even played here as a child yourself.

Let me tell you what we do down here, as some may not know the full extent of the charity.

We are based in Greengates and many know here and the surrounding areas are classed as a deprived area especially for the children with not a lot of opportunity for play.

At the playground we offer FREE outdoor adventure play to children 4 days a week Wednesday to Saturday. As part of that FREE play, all children that attend are provided with fruit, water and a FREE hot meal at tea time.

We also offer a parents and tots group once a week on a Wednesday 11-1pm and encourage anyone with a child 0-5 to come along. As part of Tots group, they are provided with a selection of different fruits and salads to try every week aswell as refreshments for the parents.

Over the summer we have fed an astonishing 4000 children individual hot meals ( HATS OFF TO THE CHEF VICKY)!!

We have provided 150 Breakfast, Dinner and Tea parcels given out to families that needed this during the summer.

The Big Swing has provided so many opportunities for volunteering, university students studying for play work degrees and for the children in and around the local estate.

Our goal for this winter is to provide an Indoor Creative Arts and multipurpose space, so the children can continue to play, attend during the winter months and still be dry. This is where we need your help!!
