Creating the Earth Regenerators Fund
Donation protected
We believe it is possible to regenerate the Earth.
This is a pivotal moment in the Earth's history. Ecosystems are collapsing. The institutions of modern society are breaking down. Humanity is at risk of going extinct. Thousands of us have gathered in the Earth Regenerators community to weave a tapestry of regenerative projects across our beautiful home planet.
Last year, we gave birth to the Barichara Regeneration Fund and began creating a prototype for bioregional regeneration in the northern mountains of Colombia. Now we seek to continue this work while also setting up the Earth Regenerators Fund to support the more than 3000 members of Earth Regenerators as each of us seeks to become a regenerator of the Earth.
Our vision is to help thousands (and later millions) of people to make the transition from living in extractive economies to empowered livelihoods contributing to the healing of landscapes, ecosystems, and human communities -- all over the planet. We already host learning journeys, provide a variety of social supports, and even have a regenerative project incubator.
All of this arose in the spirit of a gift economy.
Next for us to create is the support capacities for our members to go out into the world and become active regenerators of communities and landscapes. This is why we are asking for $50,000 that will be split evenly between the two funds. A governance council is forming for how to best put this money to use for the Earth Regenerators platform.
An advisory council of local leaders in Barichara has already created a community grants program and purchased a nature reserve for restoring the native forest. Next for this local team will be to create the capacities for more Earth Regenerators to visit and learn from our on-the-ground practices -- while also setting up a territorial foundation that strengthens our local relationships in Colombia.
Please help us raise $50,000 for Earth Regenerators worldwide and for those engaged in regenerative work in the great northern turn of the Andes where Barichara is located.
