Creating Lifetime Laughter
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Kirk Keevert, and I am asking for your help in starting an enrichment service for older adults in the Cincinnati, Ohio region. The mission of Lifetime Laughter is to deliver healthy benefits to older adults by actively engaging them in techniques and games used in comedy improv that foster socialization, cognition skills and physical activity, all based on individual needs. We engage participants in improv games and exercises that focus on goals of getting to know each other through storytelling, word-finding, and playful interactions.
I am seeking funding to make Lifetime Laughter a reality for the senior community in the Greater Cincinnati. We have started the process to obtain non-profit status after beginning our outreach to assisted living and senior communities in the area in the summer of 2019. Over the last six months we took our program to a dozen groups in the region. Our seniors ran the full range of mobility, hearing, speech and cognitive abilities and they all shared in the fun. These sessions included games chosen to get folks active, physically and mentally. We played games to get them moving, sharing memories, learning more about each other, making up stories and, above all, laughing together. At every session the residents made each other laugh with the games we facilitated. We were told repeatedly what a great time folks had, and we were invited back to every facility we visited.
We're excited and inspired by the laughter and smiles of the nearly 300 new friends we made, and we want to bring Lifetime Laughter to many more. To make that happen we need your help. So far, we have donated our time and talents to get us going while juggling other commitments. We see the possibilities and we need your financial support to bring those possibilities to life. To turn our full attention to Lifetime Laughter we are asking for funding to cover filing fees, legal expenses, professional services, advisory assistance, and a small weekly salary for me for a period of six months. It will also help us to bring financial support to programs, facilities and populations that may not otherwise be able to cover our nominal charges.
I am so grateful that you would take the time to read this, and the support and encouragement I've seen from friends and family has let me know that this is my mission, my reason, my purpose. Any financial help you could provide would be equally appreciated. So many thanks, and so very much love to you!
