Hi, my name is Mike.
I’ve been battling Colorectal Cancer since 2023. Recently, I found out that my cancer has grown in my lungs and has spread to my liver. Next week, my port will be replaced and I’ll begin chemotherapy again.
The doctors have been honest with me. My cancer is no longer curable. Their hope is to give me more time, likely a few more years. I don’t know exactly what that time will look like, but I do know how I want to spend it.
I’m a dad.
I have adult children whom I love deeply, and I’m grateful for the memories we’ve already shared. My youngest daughter, Freedom, is six years old. She’s bright, curious, and full of joy. She doesn’t fully understand what cancer means, and I want to protect that innocence for as long as I can.
Right now, my focus isn’t on bills or medical costs. In the past, I’ve asked for help with those things. This time, my heart is set on something different.
I want to make memories with my family.
I want Freedom to remember laughter, adventures, and time together. I want her memories of me to be rooted in joy, not illness. My hope is to create a small bucket list of experiences we can share while I’m able.
Things like:
• Breakfast with the Princesses
• A day at Lagoon
• Special outings, short trips, and simple adventures
• Moments where we can just be dad and daughter
Funds raised here will go toward creating these experiences and covering related costs like tickets, travel, and accommodations. Every contribution helps turn time into memories that Freedom can carry with her as she grows.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for sharing. And thank you for helping me give my daughter moments filled with love, laughter, and presence.
With gratitude,
Mike
