Creating Community Benefits for Asian Farmers
Currently local farmers throughout Asia are feeling economic pressure to leave their land and move to the cities in search of better paying jobs. However, with billions of people in Asia, the need for agriculture and food production has never been greater. It is our heart to create a model which can be easily reproduced by local farmers and village cooperatives and gives them the opportunity to remain in their village growing food while relieving their economic pressures and improving village quality of life.
CBG, a company founded by American and Swiss experts in high-altitude Asia 10 years ago, is raising funds to continue development of these reproducible small-scale farms that can be used in rural agricultural villages throughout Asia. Using higher-value crops such as fruit orchards and vegetables grown in greenhouses, combined with foreign and local expertise, we expect to see the living conditions of local farmers improve in a wholistic manner that benefits entire communities and the world beyond.
We thank you in advance for your generous donation which will be used to provide salaries for local employees and partners, support sales and marketing efforts for locally-grown products, and cover land, equipment and input costs at the project sites in Asia.
Our company founders and managing partners possess a combined 60-plus years of experience living and working in Asia. We have learned local languages and crossed cultures, and are uniquely positioned to bridge gaps between:
• East and West
• Business and Vocation
• Rural and Urban
• Poverty and Wealth
We have 5 years of local experience in greenhouse farming, fruit tree management, and direct-to-consumer produce sales and marketing. Food safety is a major consumer concern and is a key focus of our demonstration projects. Currently we are also developing an internship program to train future farm managers and operators in all aspects of the small-scale model farm and entrepreneurship so they can bring the benefits to more communities.
CBG uses a Quintuple Bottom Line approach to evaluate the success of our enterprise within the following core areas:
• Passion- Produce safe, healthy food in mountain regions
• Purpose- Train people to bless others through modern agriculture
• People- Carry a family culture that embraces all stakeholders
• Planet- Improve the land and environment
• Prosperity- Trade fairly and live generously
Please Note: All funds are donated as personal gifts in support of this social enterprise, and are NOT tax-deductible, nor do they create or imply any right to ownership or debt in the enterprise. Every donation received will be for exclusive use at the project sites in Asia for the purposes listed above. For those who want more details, our business plan and other information is available on request.
We thank you again for your support of this social enterprise, and look forward to sharing updates about how your gift helped create lasting benefit for rural farmers in Asia as the months go by!
