"Living Like Mikey" Documentary
Donation protected
Hi everyone! This May I am working on filming a documentary about my friend Mikey Lorch. Mikey has downsyndrome but is abled in so many other beautiful ways.
I started working as Mikey's buddy in the Fall and in just a short time have learned so much from him; particularly, how to love unconditionally and befriend people from all walks of life, as he does everyday. Every time I take him to the gym or visit him in the NYU dining hall he introduces me to all of his friends. In his words "I am best friends with everybody."
Many times the umbrella of disability can overshadow beauty of the individual. Our goal in the film is to bring the focus back to Mikey.
We will be filming his day-to-day in various places he goes (like his theatre group, group home, gym, horse back riding, etc.) and getting interviews of him and his family members.
Although we have a team in the works, Mikey's family on board, and locations scoped out, we are struggling to pull together the funds for the equipment we beed so that is where we could really use your help.
We need the following equipment:
Shotgun mic + XLR cable: $273.97
Screen Camera Field Monitor: $150
Digital Multitrack Recorder: $200
DSLR shoulder mount rig: $80
Handheld Boom Pole: $40
Shock mount: $15
LED camcorder video light: $33
Sound headphones: $150
Final cut pro x: $300
Total: $1,242
Please help us bring Mikey's Story to life! <3 <3
Any amount is greatly appreciated
