Our Family Story: I’m reaching out during one of the most difficult times my family has ever faced. Recently, my brother was accused of enticing a minor for indecent activities involving my 12-year-old daughter. This situation has completely shaken our household and put us in an incredibly painful and unsafe position. While he was arrested, a family member in the home chose to bond him out and continues to defend and protect him at all costs.
As a result, we no longer feel safe where we are living.
Instead of being supported, we have been made to feel like the villains for speaking up and protecting our child. Our priority is — and always will be — our daughter’s safety, well-being, and peace of mind.
Because of this, we are doing everything we can to leave this environment and start over somewhere safe. We are currently in the process of buying a home, and if everything continues as planned, we expect to close by the end of May. While this is a huge step forward for us, the financial burden of making this move quickly and securely is overwhelming. We are asking for help to cover:
