In October 2025, we sadly lost our beautiful friend Carina after a courageous battle with cancer.

Carina was a devoted wife to Steve and a loving mum to Edward and Gracie, who were the centre of her world. Her family meant everything to her, and the love she had for them shone through in everything she did.

Carina lived and worked in our village and, through her role at Highley Minor’s Nursery, cared for and nurtured countless children during their earliest years. Many families will remember her gentle nature, reassuring smile, and the genuine care she showed to every child she met.

She was one of those truly special people whose kindness touched everyone around her. Whether as a friend, colleague, neighbour, or caregiver, Carina had a way of making people feel valued, supported, and loved. Her warmth, compassion, and wonderful sense of humour brought comfort and happiness to so many lives, and her absence is felt deeply by all who knew her.

To honour Carina’s memory and the lasting impact she had on our community, we hope to place a memorial bench in St Mary’s Church graveyard. It will be a peaceful place where Steve, Edward, Gracie, family, friends, and members of the community can sit, reflect, and remember a truly remarkable woman.

The funds raised will go towards purchasing the bench, an engraved plaque in Carina’s memory, and its installation.

Any contribution, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated and will help create a lasting tribute to someone who gave so much love, care, and kindness to others throughout her life.
