Creating A Library for Pickhurst Infant Academy

Here at Pickhurst Infant Academy we are fundraising to create an inspiring library for the children at our school!

Reading for pleasure has been shown to have a significant impact on children's mental health and wellbeing, spoken language, and academic skills across all curriculum areas.

We would like to create a space that inspires our children's creativity, imagination and love of reading. We also want this to be a calm area where children can relax and learn in small groups.

Our vision is an oasis of calm that takes inspiration from the natural world.

In the current climate when school budgets are stretched, with every penny accounted for, we are having to look for other ways of funding this much-needed resource for our children. Our lovely PTA are helping us to raise funds towards this project, but we are also looking for help from the wider community.

Any donations received will be used to re-purpose and equip an existing room within the school, to create an amazing multi-purpose library for children to read and learn in.
