The goal of this fundraiser is to support Greg, his wife Helen, and their children as they navigate the loss of their son and brother, Jonas Tkacz. Many of us working with Greg at StFX wanted to offer our care and support at the news of this loss. A GoFundMe is one way to do so - allowing the Tkacz family their privacy as they grieve while providing resources to draw on as they move forward in the face of their loss.

Part of the funds collected through this GoFundMe page will be donated to the Ecole Acadienne de Pomquet to establish a scholarship or to fund other STEM-related initiatives at the school (such as a Makerspace lab). Donations will be given directly to the Tkacz family, who will work with the school to design the scholarship and/or other programs in their own time.

We have initiated this GoFundMe with the direct approval of the Tkacz family.

Please note: GoFundMe requires a "goal" and we chose an average number. It will change if we approach the goal, but we aren't seeking a set fund. We only wish to provide a venue to show our care and support for the family. Every donation, no matter the size, counts.
