Developing interactive learning tools Africa AMUA

Hello, my name is Leanie Wanja; I work in Colorado as a full-time child caregiver, and I'm fundraising for my daughter back in Kenya. I have been able to get a lot of exposure to what American children receive in terms of learning tools, and I would love to share the same with those back home. My daughter is a passionate creative with a heart for children. She has been involved in teaching and working on several creative concepts to help provide children with better-quality tools for learning. She is currently working on an interactive game platform combining storytelling and educational games that bring out Africans' history, culture and experiences across the continent. The interactive education platform is the first of its kind. It uses stories and games to unlock different lands, forests, and desserts, all told through a nomadic family and their fun adventure under the sun.

Her dream is to break the mold of linear, uninteresting and ineffective modes of teaching and help students enjoy learning through the mobile devices they can access from their parents. She believes that this will be the frontier in education and learning not only in Kenya but in the whole of Africa.

The continent has a lot of potential in this area due to the increased internet access and the largest youth population globally. She wants to make an impact the way she best knows how to. I believe in her and her dream to make a difference, and I have encouraged her to pursue her goals. She has been able to put together her concept and align a team that can carry out the project, but she requires funds to bring it to life and see her dreams and those of learners in Kenya become a reality.
