Create financial security for these new parents!

Hi everyone!

My name is Allie, and I am Cece's sister, and Zach's sister-in-law!

I wanted to get the everyone up to speed on how Cece, Zach, and baby are doing. I know a lot of you either haven’t been aware of the situation or are itching for an update so strap in because it’s a long one!

On Monday (5/22) at about 4 AM Cece’s water broke. By 8:30 AM after much debate with our Mom and I about “did my water break or did I just pee?” She finally went to the hospital to get checked and her water was indeed broken about 6 weeks early! They admitted her right then and there and let her know that she will have to live at the hospital until baby boy is born due to infection risk, her history of high risk pregnancy, and because she still has all of her cervical stitches in. Zach is being a wonderful supportive husband and dad and is trying to be there for every moment of this whole situation that he possibly can.

Down to the plan:
Cece is scheduled to have her stitches removed on Friday at 11:30 AM to avoid any added complications if and when she goes into preterm labor, but hopefully will continue cooking the baby much further after that. We are hoping to get her through the next week and a half at the minimum without going into labor because the longer he stays cooking, the less time he will need in the NICU. Cece and Zach have both met and spoken with the Neonatologist (NICU Doctor) and they are preparing them for the possibility that baby may likely need to stay in the NICU for about 4+ weeks if he doesn’t stay cooking for at least another 10 days which is a great goal but will be tough to reach.

As if all of this wasn’t a tricky enough situation for the soon to be new parents, Zach unfortunately had to go back to work while Cece is staying at the hospital so that they can try and maximize what WA paternity leave he will have available now that a long NICU stay is a likely possibility and since Cece can’t come home. They are also trying to figure out what bills/finances are going to look like once they get on leave (WA only pays out a max of 70% of your income for a limited amount of time).

As it stands right now, Cece is only allowed very limited visitors due to the nature of the situation so she has asked me to be her designated PR person if anyone has any questions or just wants an update! If you are itching to help or support them in any way, please donate what you can, to help these new parents gain some financial security in these tough upcoming weeks/months! We are fundraising to try and help them cover both Cece and Carson's medical bills, as well as some of their home and living expenses. Our goal is to ease this burdon so they can focus on keeping Cece and that little guy healthy and happy, and so Zach can take some leave to be with them and not have to worry about the finances of it all.

Most of all, they would like everyone to know that they love you guys and are thankful for everyone who has reached out! It is a really stressful time for them and they are just trying to focus on the next right thing to do, one day at a time ❤️

Update 5/26
Cece is officially post-op, and her and Carson are doing great! She is sitting at 1 cm dilated, 20% effaced, and Carson is sitting pretty high, so we are hopeful that we can keep him cooking longer! She will not be permitted to leave the hospital until Carson makes his arrival, so now we wait!
