This year LLEGO will have six runners in the 2023 Boston marathon. I was one of the fortunate runners and am raising money for this great organization. Ever since I came to this country at age 11 and saw the Boston Marathon, I knew this was something special.

LLEGÓ Boston is a non-profit organization created to help address some of the systemic issues in law enforcement by helping build and foster relationships with the community it serves. They have created several programs and events with the community to address the issues. LLEGÓ has helped individuals prepare physically, academically, and mentally to pass police academies around the states successfully.

In the last six years, I have had some setbacks and have come a long way, physically and mentally. During the pandemic, I started running and became involved in a community running group called LFA run. I was chosen as one of the coaches, and on October 9th; 9 of us completed The Chicago Marathon, with 5 being first-time marathoners. Since my time with LFA Run, I have helped organize 2 Annual 10K but, more importantly, see and help people reach new heights. Running the Boston Marathon is any runner's most prestigious accomplishment, and that dream will be realized in a few months.

I run for my community to show others they can do it; I run to inspire and make my daughter proud, but I run to prove that there is still triumph and possibility in my life.
