Dear Friends and Family,
The past three years have been a journey unlike any other for Monty and me, filled with challenges that have tested us in ways we never expected. Navigating Monty’s stage four kidney cancer, along with the complexities of losing his pituitary gland, has been a whirlwind—what one of the top endocrinologists at UCSF called an “unperfect storm.” Doctors continue to explore ways to regulate his hormones, and we remain hopeful that his kidney tumor will shrink and ultimately disappear.
Through it all, we hold onto faith. In about a month, we hope to see signs that the alternative therapies are working. Monty made the brave decision to step away from traditional treatments ten months ago because they took such a toll on him. While he is weary and frustrated, we both have learned to ride this roller coaster with our hands in the air, embracing every moment with hope.
We are beyond grateful for the generosity and love we’ve received—support that has helped us navigate the many uncovered medical expenses beyond Monty’s Medicare coverage. Your kindness has carried us through, and we hold that gratitude close to our hearts.
Now, I find myself at a crossroads, stepping more fully into my calling. Over the past decade, my massage practice has evolved into deeply meaningful work in somatic trauma therapy. I have developed a powerful healing method and have been honored to teach it through workshops over the past three years. Now, I am taking it to the next level—offering a nine-month online training so that this work can reach more people in need. I have assembled a professional team to help realize this vision, with plans to launch in June.
As I pour my heart into this project, I need financial support to bring it to life. If you feel inspired to contribute in any way, know that your generosity will help bring this healing work online to reach the world.
Thank you for walking this path with us—with your love, prayers, and unwavering support. You are part of our strength, and we are endlessly grateful. Please check out my website, traumagates.com, and a business plan is available, or simply call me to chat. If you would like to contribute directly to Venmo, please reach out via email or text. No pressure, of course!
With love and hope,
Anna
