Help Create a Maths Teacher

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jake and I would like to turn my lifelong passion for mathematics into something that helps alleviate a national shortfall - a Maths Teacher.
The UK government has recognised that this shortage is typically worth £28k through a bursary from the Department of Education - paid for by the taxpayer - this helps pay for course fees, expenses (travelling to schools you are training at etc.)

However there are a small group of us out there who meet all the requirements of teacher training, have been offered places by the Universities looking to train teachers - but who the Government has decided, for reasons known mostly to themselves, do not deserve this funding to train, and have to foot the bill themselves.

I am committed to training to be a Maths teacher but without this level of support it will be extremely difficult for me to put my family through the financial strain that it will place on us.

I have spent the last few years experiencing a number of health issues. Having my kidneys removed due to a hereditary disease, a period on dialysis, a kidney transplant and a post operative heart attack. All of which led to a lot of reflection and the desire to do something a bit more philanthropic with my life.

I'd like to think that I can gain the same level of support to follow this path as all the other Maths teachers in training, who are helping address this critical shortage, and would welcome any contribution that can be made to that end.
Thanks in advance for any support!
