Memorial Bench and Tree in honor of Safiya Mahmudova

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Hearts,

We are heartbroken to share that our beloved Safiya, a joyful and courageous little second grade girl, has lost her four month long battle with Leukemia. Safiya was a bright light with a big heart in a tiny body. She loved art class, dancing and singing, and will always be remembered as a peacemaker on the playground when disagreements arose among her friends. Safiya loved attending Craig Elementary, Saint Louis, MO and even insisted that she return to school just weeks before she passed away. Her laughter, kindness, and spirit touched the lives of her family and friends , espessially of her three brothers, and everyone that knew her.

Safiya’s birthday is December 24, and we would love to honor her brief beautiful life time with us by creating a special place for family and friends to remember her, we are raising funds to plant a memorial tree and install a bench at Creve Coeur Lake. This was Safiya’s happy place. She loved to play on the sandy beach and even caught a fish the last time she visited there. This memorial will serve as a tribute to her love of play, and the joy she brought into our lives.

Our goal is to raise $5000 to cover the costs of the tree, bench, and plaque, along with any installation fees. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help us create this lasting tribute for a little girl who meant so much to so many.
