Help a Single Mother Rebuild a Home and Create a Healing Homestead for Family & Community

Han Mitakuyepi (Hello, My Relatives),

I am reaching out with a humble heart to ask for your support in rebuilding our home and land into a place of healing, sustainability, and cultural resilience. As a single mother, I am doing everything I can to create a safe, stable, and nurturing home for my son—a place where he can grow up connected to his culture, surrounded by the teachings of our ancestors, and grounded in the strength of our traditions.

Our three-bedroom, two-bathroom house is in dire need of repair. The windows and doors are broken, the walls and ceilings are damaged, the water pipes have burst, and essential appliances are either missing or beyond repair. Every corner of our home needs attention, from the floors beneath our feet to the roof above our heads. As a mother, it will fill my heart to see my son living in a space that is safe and healthy, and I am determined to create that for him.

But this is more than just a renovation—it is the foundation of a vision to create a healing homestead that not only supports my son and me but also gives back to our community. My goal is to establish:

Fruit, vegetable, and traditional foods and medicine gardens to provide fresh, nourishing food and healing remedies.
Chicken, egg, and honey production to sustain our family and offer local, natural foods to our community.
A small business and tradepost apothecary offering traditional medicines, arts, and supplies rooted in ancestral knowledge.
Educational initiatives that bring people together to learn, heal, and reconnect through cultural teachings, land-based practices, and traditional arts.
This home will be more than just a shelter—it will be a place of resilience, renewal, and healing for my son, myself, and our community. It will be a space where I can teach him the values of hard work, cultural pride, and self-sufficiency, while also sharing that knowledge with others.

To make this possible, we need to raise funds to cover essential renovations, including:
✔ Replacing broken windows and doors
✔ Repairing walls, ceilings, and floors
✔ Fixing plumbing and broken water pipes
✔ Restoring the kitchen and bathroom fixtures
✔ Replacing essential appliances (stove, fridge, washer, dryer)
✔ Repairing or replacing the roof for a safe, dry home

As a single mother, I cannot do this alone. I am asking for your support to help me create a safe home and a thriving future for my son and our community. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, brings us one step closer to making this vision a reality.

How You Can Help:
➡ Donate if you are able
➡ Share this fundraiser with your friends and community
➡ Offer resources, materials, or skills to assist with renovations

Wopila tanka—many thanks—for your kindness, prayers, and support. Your generosity will help create a home where culture, healing, and sustainability thrive—a space that nourishes not just our family, but our entire community.

Pilamaya ye (Thank you),
Jennifer & Cedar
