My name is Beteley Gelaw. I was born and raised in Ethiopia, and after moving to Minneapolis, I found a home away from home church family in Bloomington, Minnesota. Our beloved pastor, Pastor Sileshi Tesfaye, and his beloved wife, Abonesh, are amazing founders and leaders of our church. The church holds regular service every Sunday, young adults service every Friday, and couples group once a month. Alongside these important services, there is prayer service every week and other services that are as important. This church is a space where people from any age group can find belonging and serve God based on their passion and calling. The church also gives space for children to come together, learn about God, play and grow in relationship with one another, just like the way Jesus wants us to be.
God is a faithful God who is truthful and fulfills what He had told us through His unfading word. The book of John 16:7 states that it is better for Jesus to go to His Father after accomplishing His mission so that the Holy Spirit may be given to us to comfort us and help us. As children of God, we have been experiencing the presence of the Holy Spirit ever since the congregation started gathering in the name of Jesus.
This year, the Lord has told us that it is going to be a year of newness overall, and we have been seeing it in different aspects of our life, including our church. The Lord has caused people to renovate different parts of our church, and just like he has been doing it in our life, he has continued showing us how he is with us and has already blessed us with people who were able to assist us with the current need of our church. Even though some of the areas of the church have been renovated, there is still a lot to be done in order to create a comfortable space for every church member so that God may continue the work that he started.
To be more specific we are reaching out to our church family, friends, and community with an important need. Our church’s air conditioning system has officially stopped working and after bringing in the professionals, we have been told that it’s to old to repair. The only option now is a full replacement.
The total cost for the new AC system and installation is around $40,000.
As you can imagine, that’s a big expense for us, and we’re asking for your help. Whether you’re part of our church, have visited before, or just want to support a good cause, every donation helps.
Our building is more than just a place to gather on Sundays it’s where people come for support, connection, prayer, and community. We want to keep it comfortable and welcoming, especially as we head into the warmer seasons.
If you’re able to give, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If not, please consider sharing this with others who might be able to help.
Thank you so much; may the grace of God be multiplied to you.
