Crawford Family COVID Medical & Memorial Fund

Donation protected
Although the global pandemic has affected all of our lives, one family has been irretrievably broken by it. Royce Sr. and Charlotte Crawford are longtime residents of the Dallas area and have three children: Torrey, Natalia, and Roycie. Royce is a retired water department employee and Charlotte has been working at Parkland Hospital for over 40 years in the Microbiology Laboratory. Both are dedicated civil servants who tirelessly served the local community.  Charlotte and Royce also recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

They are also two of the most caring, loving, and thoughtful people you could ever meet. Royce and Charlotte have the ability to make anyone feel loved and cared for even after only meeting them once. They would go without in order to see that others have what they need.

They are also strong in their faith and are members of the True Believers of Christ Community Church in Balch Springs, where Royce also serves as a Reverend.

Royce and Charlotte's children and grandchildren are their world. They raised wonderful children who were becoming much like their parents in their love for serving others.

In late January, Natalia and Roycie both started to show symptoms of COVID-19. They were admitted to the hospital when they had trouble breathing. Natalia was eventually placed on a ventilator and put in a medically induced coma. Roycie seemed to be doing well initially after admission. On February 12th, Royce Sr. was admitted to the hospital also with COVID-19.

Unfortunately, in mid-February, Roycie took a turn for the worse. On February 15th, he passed away. He was only 33 years-old.

Roycie was a Teaching Assistant at Gill Elementary School and loved serving as a role model to the children he met. He attended Prairie View A&M and was a member of the marching band. He brought much love and joy with him wherever he went. The world is a little less bright without him.

As the viewing for Roycie began, the family and their friends received word that Royce Sr. had passed away. This double blow has brought the family to their knees. Royce Sr. was a truly kind and gentle man, and those of us who knew him will never be the same.

Natalia is still fighting COVID and remains hospitalized.

Charlotte needs your help now more than ever. She is facing the mounting costs of two funerals and medical bills from her family members' long stays in the hospital. Please help us help her. Please help us pay back this family who has given so much of themselves to helping others. Anything you can give will be appreciated.

We, her coworkers at Parkland, are organizing this on behalf of Charlotte and her family. Charlotte will be the sole beneficiary of this fund and will be the only one able to retrieve the money raised.
