We decided to change this campaign and make it an evergreen one to honor our daughter, Cassandra Marie Braun, who would have turned 27 on Oct. 29, and ensure her son Landon has a bright future.
Cassandra had moved to Hot Springs, Ark., in late September to be general manager of a Buffalo Wild Wings
On the night of Oct. 10, scant seconds from a home they were renting off U.S. 70, Cassie and her boyfriend TaVon were killed when they were hit head-on by an Arkansas State Police officer reportedly pursuing a speeder.
Now we have the unenviable task of making arrangements, hosting a service, bringing their belongings back home, answering everyone's questions about what happened and going on without them.
They had officially moved to Hot Springs just a week and a half previous. On Oct. 8 I helped TaVon load up a U haul and off he went to meet up with Cassie and start a new life.
By all accounts they were happy, looking forward to a fresh start with a new job, a nice place to live, an area to explore.
Words are so inadequate to describe just how this tragic crash has hit Cassie's mom and I, her brother and sisters, her son, grandparents, friends, TaVon's mother and relatives, and everyone else their lives have touched.
This gofundme was originally to help defray funreal arrangements, pricey affairs, especially when you really haven't made plans to bury your 27-year-old child.
SInce we have memorialized Cassie and are now more concerned with keeping Landon's future on track, we will morph this GFM to him.
