CRASH CLAIMS THE LIFE OF MOTHER OF FOUR, GUADALUPE AGUILAR
There are no words to fully describe the unimaginable tragedy that weighs up the shoulders of the children left behind by Guadalupe Aguilar.
On Sunday, January 31st, Guadalupe's oldest daughter received a call notifying her of the tragic accident caused by a suspected drunk driver. The call was short and brief stating her mother had been gravely injured. Almost immediately after she was completely distraught and overcome with grief upon learning her mother had passed at the scene of the accident.
Guadalupe leaves behind her four children. Juan 24 the oldest. His mother’s knight in shining amour. He was always at her side and worked side by side with her as local field workers to help support his younger siblings. Andrea 20, her mother’s best friend and confidant. Juliana 15 and Alex 10.
Guadalupe was on her way home from a much-deserved night out with friends. She had texted to let her children know she was heading home, but she never made it. A three-car collision in the early morning hours of that Sunday claimed her life.
Her children are left with not only the immense grief and pain of losing their mother. These children have lost the bulk of their financial means needed for basic everyday expenses such as rent, utilities food, etc. As they find themselves drowning in decision making that most well-aged adults are not prepared to make, all while they sift through traffic collision reports, finagling insurance protocols, and planning a funeral for their mother weighing upon them as well.
I understand that no amount of financial support will ever replace their mother's love and presence in their lives. I simply hope to alleviate the burden of them having to pack up what is left of their current normal and have to stay with family and friends.
