My name is Moira Hoisington and I'm fundraising for Craig Topham to help with medical needs.
Craig was diagnosed with ALS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, in early March. ALS, often called Lou Gehrig's disease, is a nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. ALS causes loss of muscle control and there is no cure for this fatal disease. This disease is a very progressive disease for Craig, as he is now wheelchair-bound.
Some of you may know Craig from our AAA high school days! That quiet but adventurous boy who fell hopelessly in love with Beth Schallig! For those of you who don’t know Craig, he is my sister’s husband. They’ve been together for 34 years. Married for 31.
Craig is a quiet, solid and strong man who has been a devoted husband and loving father. It is a sad thing to watch his body deteriorate so rapidly. Equally sad to watch this once independent man now require his every need to be taken care of by Beth and immediate family... knowing what is inevitable.
