Hi,
My name is Sandy Ellis, I'm starting a fundraiser for our Nephew 38 year old Craig Dorey. Craig and his family are originally from Saint John NB. And he now lives in Prince George BC.
His Mom and siblings are now living in Fort St John BC
Unfortunately on Aug 9th, 2026 at around 12:30 am, Craig was a victim of a vicious hit & run and left for dead laying on the highway. A bystander heard the incident and proceeded to investigate when he found him laying unconscious on the highway and proceeded to call emergency services. Craig has sustained live threating injuries and was Air Lifted from Prince George to Vancouver. His mother and brother live almost 1500 kms away, and we are trying to help them stay by his side, but the financial costs are going to force them back home away from his side.
Craig has has multiple operations and continues on a self induced coma. His injuries include, Compound breaks to his arms and legs, several broken ribs which have punctured his lungs and collapsed, he lost his spleen, colon and parts of his intestines had to be removed, he has multiple bleeds in his brain, spinal fluid build up in his head, his heart is severely bruised, his C1 Vertebra has been defused from his spine, due to swelling and infections the Doctor's have been unable to attempt the repairs. He has developed pneumonia, Sepsis and abscesses in is stomach. He also has a Tracheotomy to help with his breathing.
The Doctors continue to monitor it to try and get it under control, he's going to need several more surgeries and skin grafts. The Prince George RCMP have been dealing with the witnesses and are still looking for the vehicles involved.
No Mother should ever have the burden of leaving their children in a life threatening situation.
I know I'm missing information on some of his injuries, but there are just too many and more continue to arise. Below is the news article pertaining to the incident. Please continue to send prayers to him and his family, if you can support, no amount is to small as it all adds up and every little bit helps,Please share this so we can lessen the burden if his family.
His Mom Fran and family want to thank everyone for your continued support and prayers.
Thank-you to everyone.
