Father of 3 Fighting Stage 4 Intestinal Cancer

Hi, my name is Craig Owens and I have been diagnosed with a Stage 4 metastatic small bowel adenocarcinoma (small intestinal cancer). I'm raising money to assist with expenses for our family while I'm unable to work due to upcoming surgery and intense Chemotherapy regimen.

My journey began in July of 2021 when I had emergency resection surgery. I then started Chemotherapy pill treatment, which was completed early 2022. I went back to my Oncologist May of 2022 to get the "all clear" notification and instead was told they found a spot on my CT scan. Since then it has been a whirlwind of appointments and bad news, but I will be going in for a very involved and intensive surgery called HIPEC (Hyperthermia Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy) at the Mayo Clinic. This will be followed by 4-6 months of IV Chemotherapy.

Not only has this grim news affected myself, but it has been a drastic change for my wife and 3 step-children. My work has been very supportive, but missing this much time I will have to file for short term disability and my ability to help provide for my family will be impacted.

Those who know me know I am not the type who ever asks for help or handouts, but faced with this new reality that is ahead of us, I'm scared as bills pile up and cause added stress and anxiety to an already tumultuous time.
