My name is Andrea. Craig and I share 2 kids, Jaylynn and Hunter. Some of you may already know me or remember me from a couple of years ago when he went through his kidney failure, and most recently with his open heart surgery.
As many of you know, Craig underwent emergency open-heart surgery on 1/14 for a quadruple bypass. He spent a total of almost 30 days in the hospital due to several complications. He spent a considerable amount of time trying to recover from that financially, but thanks to so many generous donations during that time, it helped take some of the burden off of him, and I know he was so incredibly grateful for that. Sadly, he has been hit once again with medical problems, and he is once again back in the hospital.
He was admitted a few weeks ago due to an infection in his foot, which unfortunately led to toe amputation. Everything had seemed to go well, and he was discharged after 6 days inpatient. However, at his most recent post-op appointment, it was discovered that the infection had progressed, and he was immediately admitted, and underwent another operation Thursday evening for further amputation. He will remain hospitalized for an unknown amount of time, as he has to have 2 more operations in the coming days. The surgeons are trying to keep the infection from further spreading into his whole foot and leg, as that would be devastating and lead to further amputations.
As you can imagine, this is beginning to take a toll on Craig both financially and emotionally. He used all his vacation time and sick time for the whole year during his open heart surgery.
If anyone feels inclined to donate to Craig, I know that will help take a little of the stress off of him. Sitting in a hospital and having to not only worry about your health and further amputations, but also worrying about finances is really difficult. I myself, along with my family, are doing everything we can to assist him during this time. However, Craig doesn’t really have any family to rely on, as both of his parents have passed within recent years, and he has no siblings. So this is where I humbly ask for anyone who feels moved to help Craig out, to please do so. Obviously no one enjoys having to ask, but Craig has truly been dealt some very difficult hands in the last few months, and could really use the support. As always, prayers and well wishes for him are also so appreciated and welcomed. Any funds raised for Craig will go directly to him to assist with things such as utilities, rent, etc, while he is off work.
I don’t know how up for talking Craig is, also he is in and out of tests each day, but you can always reach out to him to offer any encouragement you may have for him. Even if he isn’t able to reply right away, please know that he will be very appreciative of the support.
Also, if anyone has any further questions, I’m more than happy to answer them.
