If you know my godson, Craig Holbine, you have certainly heard about the terrible accident that has rocked his world, forever changed his life and resulted in his left arm being amputated above the elbow.
As a result of the tragedy, Craig has undergone so much: life saving emergency medical care, an ambulance and helicopter evacuation flight, followed by a lengthy hospital stay, numerous doctor visits, treatments and procedures and unfortunately daily, extreme phantom pain which feels like it's coming from a body part that is no longer there.
The good news is that today (November 11), Craig has undergone a TMR procedure . Targeted Muscle Reinnervation is a new surgical procedure that reassigns nerves that once controlled the arm and the hand. Not only should this surgery help with the phantom pain but it will position him for future prosthetic arm, which is a huge next step.
This most recent development in Craig's journey is my reason for creating this page today, because I would like to ask for your help in helping to fund Craig's new prosthetic arm.
First things first, why am I doing this. Well frankly, prosthetic limbs are very expensive. More importantly however, I have been following Craig's progress since the accident (he is a fighter) and I have been wondering how can I help, AND then it dawned on me, THIS WILL HELP SIGNIFICANTLY!!!
So here is what we would like to do- Let's find 100 people before January 1st who can donate $250 dollars each so at the end of this campaign Craig can have $25,000 towards getting a new arm.
If you are like me, and you have been scratching your head looking for ways to help and make a difference- this is it. If you are in a situation where you can contribute to this worthy cause, we certainly thank you regardless of the amount you are able to gift. Any gift of any denomination would be appreciated and will help to move us toward our goal, but if you can give $250 or more that will move us closer to funding this most important gift faster.
Beyond your generous gift, we ask that you share this page with your friends, and ask you to leave your messages of encouragement to Craig, his wife Christina, and their two sons Jackson and Owen.
Best regards and God Bless,
Tom Paolucci
