Dear Friends,
For those of you that don't know my Dad's story, he's been fighting Multiple Sclerosis since 1991. An Army Veteran none the less. Although not much is known about this disease with each case being very different, his condition has continued to worsen, most recently over the last two years. He has always been a very humble and soft-spoken fighter touching all of those around him -- including all six of his daughters, myself included, and his wife (my mom) Carolyn. As some of his dearest friends, we are asking for your help now.
Two days prior to Thanksgiving he was hospitalized for severe trigeminal neuralgia, a progressive symptom of MS, affecting nerves running from the face to the brain. He has not been home since.
My mom continues to work full time, without her partner-in-crime at home, to support his not only recent but continued medical costs. Since his admission back in November at the Martinsburg, WV Veterans Affairs Hospital, he was transferred to a nursing rehabilitation center in Leesburg, VA and then consequently admitted to INOVA Loudoun Hospital with a plethora of new and suppressing medical issues. Now, he has been resting and rehabilitating at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Leesburg, VA since December 24th.
Our family has been touched and loved by so many of those around us in ways we are forever grateful. My Dad is a fighter in every sense of the word and we hope that with your help, his fight can continue for many days ahead. We cannot wait to have him home and close to all of us again.
The funds we receive will be directly used to help finance his continued stay at Heritage Hall, the day-to-day bills affecting the family home, and his eventual transition back home. The sooner the better! He is our Warrior.
