Craig Rabuck's Rehab from his Stroke in December
Donation protected
As many of you know, 2021 was a rough year for Craig. Craig suffered several strokes during the year, the last and most serious one occurring about a week before Christmas. Since his December stroke, Craig has either been in the hospital or a rehabilitation facility working on his recovery. Despite working very hard with his therapists, Craig is still unable to use his right side and his speech is minimal. His rehab stay will be ending soon, mainly due to insurance coverage limitations, and he will be returning home for the first time in nearly four months. While that’s good news for Craig, his family and his beloved dogs, the next phase will be a challenge for him and Peggy. Craig will likely need assistance 24/7 for the foreseeable future. I’m sure Peggy would love to be his full-time caretaker, but that is not possible financially. Peggy has a full-time job and needs to continue working, so she will be arranging home health care when she is unavailable. Unfortunately, home health care is an expensive proposition, is not covered by his insurance and is not otherwise provided for in Craig and Peggy’s budget. To help Peggy get Craig the assistance he needs when he returns home, we have decided to set up this Go Fund Me page. All funds raised will be used to defray home health care costs.
Back Story - Craig and I have known each other for about 60 years and during our high school years we worked together, played on the golf team together and occasionally drank a beer or two together. It was not until 2019 that we found out through Ancestry.com that we were actually brothers. Getting re-aquainted with Craig and meeting Peggy has been a real joy for me, my other four siblings, and our families. We felt it was important to set up this fundraising page to ease Peggy's burden at least a little bit as she and Craig start the next phase of his recovery.
