A Battle with Cancer!
Craig Books is currently battling cancer, JKL real estate have created a fundraising page to help contribute to any associated expenses and we wish to do all we can for this amazing couple! Here is their story.
Craig and Natashia met during their high school days many moons ago, then after high school they each went their seperate ways and lived their lives apart for many years. Over 20 years later the two found each other again, at their high school reunion of all places, and then began their relationship, some would say it was fate!
Craig and Natashia are a fantastic couple and have been blissfully happy together, enjoying every moment and celebrating that they found each other after so many years. This is why it is just simply unfair that last year in 2014, edging close to Christmas, Craig and Tarsh were given some concerning news about Craig's health. This began their journey into the unknown.
Craig is currently battling the all too common disease known as Cancer, although I'm sure most of us have a few other names for it!
Having only been recently married in September 2014, The couple have only shared a short married life and are looking forward to a long future together as husband and wife. I am sure they wish they were still on their honeymoon now!
Craigs initial diagnosis was Bladder Cancer and Craig had to leave his employment at Ditchfield Contracting and Tarsh also had to take time off from her employment at JKL real estate.
In Early 2015, Craig received chemotherapy to try and stop the cancer in its tracks but unfortunately the chemo did not do its job and major surgery was then scheduled to remove the effected area. Reconstruction of the bladder was then required to maintain its functionality. The surgery itself took over 13 hours and overall went well, however the recovery was tough and doctors discovered complications with the reconstructive part of the operation and Craig was in a critical condition for a period of time.
Doctors then advised that the body should begin to heal itself and the complications should hopefully resolve themselves. Things were finally looking up and Craig and Tarsh were advised they could go home soon to be more comfortable.
Before being released, routine pathology tests were undertaken to check the cancer levels in Craigs Body. Everyone was optomistic that it was going to be good results. The devastating reality was quite the opposite, in mid May 2015, Craig and Tarsh were advsied that cancer cells were now evident in other areas of Craigs body.
Craig is now recovering from his surgery at home with Tarsh by his side and they are preparing for more treatment to try and kill this disgusting disease!
Both Craig and Tarsh are taking time away from work and will need as much emotional and financial support as we all can provide.
We hope that any funds we raise can go towards medical expenses, travel costs, groceries or bills to provide a small amount of relief for them in their time of need. Limited assistance has been received due to the nature of the cancer and the ground breaking procedures required, even with private health cover, the expenses are quickly rising. Add to that the fact that they are receiving minimal income, this truly is a testing time for them.
If you wish to Donate, any contribution will make a difference. Little drops of water make the mighty Ocean!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Karen, Lauren or Carlie at JKL real estate. 02 6554 8717.
