Craig McGrath fights Cancer

Hi, I’m Graham Commens and have worked at Armidale City Public School with Craig and Kate McGrath where they have become the greatest of friends and have been part of the local community for 20 years. We are aiming to provide some assistance for these two selfless and passionate teachers that have fallen on difficult times due to ongoing and recent health scares.

Kate is a survivor of multiple bouts of cancer and Craig has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and has deteriorated rapidly and currently under palliative care in hospital. Craig’s prognosis at this point is unknown and we are hopeful that time with Craig can be increased as much as possible.

Craig is our science teacher and is widely loved by students from Kindergarten to Year 6. He is that teacher, when he sees you years after you have left school, down town or the nurse in hospital and remembers your name.

We are hoping that this support will allow both Kate and Craig to concentrate on receiving the medical attention they need while relieving some of the day-to-day financial stress. This money may also allow alternative treatment options that are not publicly funded. We have not set a target but please understand that every dollar you are able to contribute, will allow them both to get on their feet and work on improving their health. Additionally, for a loving husband, for Craig to know that Kate may have additional financial support will also help to ease his mind a little.
