Craig Markgraff Jr (CJ)- Hurricane Ian Victim
Donation protected
Hello, we are Craig’s family. Sister, mother, and aunt. Craig lost his life during Hurricane Ian while trying to evacuate his flooded home. We were unable to locate him from Thursday 9/29, until we were notified he was found on 10/5 in Charlie Creek. He had been caught up in the strong currents and dragged under. We are so thankful for all of the rescue teams, news crews, and locals who were all a part of his recovery. Without the public interest, we may not have found him as quickly as we did. Craig was hard working, loved his family, and was a friend to many. Many of his friends have reached out to us and said nothing but good things for days.
He loved working on his car, being with friends, hanging out at the beach, and living life to the fullest. His dog Rex was his best friend, and we have him here with us in Michigan.
We are opening this GoFundMe to cover a variety of things like travel expenses from Michigan to Florida to recover his belongings and burial.
There is NO pressure to donate in anyway. We have had a few people reach out and ask if there was somewhere for them to do so. Any help is a blessing and much appreciated by the family. Please only donate if you are able. We know so many other families are suffering and deserving of help. The money will be given directly to our family. I will manage the funds, but all money will be used for us collectively to help bring us closure.
