Craig is Fighting Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Stu Shipley. I want to tell you about my son, Craig Stu Shipley, Jr.
Craig is my firstborn son, born in 1969. Growing up, he was a good kid, never got in trouble and always had the desire to help others. In school, he excelled in every subject and graduated with honors. Everyone loved his great wit!
I was a Longhaul Truck Driver and missed a lot of time with him growing up. Craig has two younger brothers, Shawn and Jarrod and he helped so much with them growing up. He set a great example for them to follow.
At the age of 17, he joined the Marine Corps. I too was in the Corps and served two tours in Vietnam. Craig served during the Kuwait conflict and of course, I was very proud of him.
Craig is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and has been active his entire life, always serving others. He is the father of 5 children and has a wonderful, supportive, sweet wife.
Six years ago, Craig told us he had Stage 4 Throat Cancer. The diagnosis was devasting. He went through months of radiation treatments and appeared to win the battle. However, just 2 years ago, doctors informed him that cancer had moved to his lungs and gave him 18 months to two years to live. Once again, we were beside ourselves with grief and disbelief.
Today, Craig is 52 years old and has not given up on his fight and is in treatment.
As his father, I am asking for your help for my son. Please consider donating to our GoFundMe to assist Craig with his medical bills, which are quickly piling up. As a family, we have set a goal to raise $40,000 and would be grateful for any donation, large or small.
Thank you for your time. Even if you can't contribute financially, please keep my son in your prayers.
God bless you all!
