Help Craig and Cyndi as they both battle cancer!

Hi, my name is Cindy. I'm fundraising for Craig and Cyndi Burwitz. My husband, Bob, and I met Craig and Cyndi 24 years ago. We all became instant friends, which over the years morphed into us becoming extended families to each other. They're just awesome people. They've been married 26 years. They've raised two kids, Alex and Jared. Anyone who knows them will tell you that the kids have grown up to be pretty amazing adults as well. They have always been there for everyone in their lives. Now, I want to help be there for them during the most trying times they've ever faced.

Cyndi was diagnosed with colon cancer in August of 2021. She immediately started chemotherapy for 6 months. She completed her chemo around March of 2022 and was ready to get back to living her life. Unfortunately, a scan she had taken 3 months after her chemo ended showed the cancer had returned. She chose to do another 6 months of chemo, which ultimately did more damage than good to her body. The cancer is still there and growing, along with severe damage to her body from the aggressive chemo treatments. She has had numerous hospitalizations for various complications, as well as pain that becomes too severe at times to treat at home.

As of earlier this month, Cyndi is now a hospice patient. Between the cancer recurring and the damage from chemo, her body can't take any more. Their first granddaughter was born in April 2023. She wanted to be able to spend as much as she possible could with Baby Skyler, without being so horrifically sick from her treatments. She has no viable treatment options left that would give her better quality of life.

As Cyndi's cancer battle progressed, She couldn't work anymore. They lost a significant amount of their household income. After already struggling from the loss of Cyndi's income, earlier this summer Craig lost his auto repair business. His landlord passed away and the widow suddenly decided to sell the building that Craig had a month to month lease on for the past 8 years. Only a few weeks after the business closed, Craig found out that he also has rectal cancer. He has had several rounds of chemo and radiation. He's lost well over 30 lbs in the past 2-3 months. They found a spot on his liver a few weeks ago, so he had more targeted radiation just this past week. As they have struggled to take care of each other with Craig going through chemo and Cyndi beginning hospice care at home, the bills have begun piling up. As if things couldn't get any worse, Craig's mom passed away September 30th of this year.

Craig, Cyndi and their family are dealing with an unbelievable mountain of burdens. Any help you could give would be so greatly appreciated. It would be such a blessing if the family could spend what limited time Cyndi has left being together, without worrying about their mounting bills, buying groceries or losing their home. All of the money donated here will go directly to them to be used for medical, household bills and Cyndi's funeral expenses.
