I am fundraising for my Mom to help cover funeral and other related costs for Dad who died yesterday, 6-27-23.

Dad was tragically killed when hit by a vehicle as he crossed the street in front of the house where he and Mom lived for over 43 years.

Mom and Dad had just this month celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. He wasn’t supposed to go this way. For years, he had lamented the high speeds of many of the vehicles and was concerned that one day someone would get seriously hurt or killed, which unfortunately was just what happened.

Dad was 77 at the time of his passing. He was deeply involved in the Galesburg community. He was also a Veteran as he served in the US Coast Guard, of which he was very proud of. However, not nearly as proud as he was of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that he was able to enjoy at the time of his passing.

This has been an extremely traumatic event for Mom and Brother as they witnessed it as it happened. My Brother was the first to Dad’s side and has been deeply affected by the experience.
