In Loving Memory of Craig Hubbard: Support for Sherrie and the Family
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved husband, father, and friend, Craig Hubbard.
On November 20th, Craig peacefully passed away in his sleep from cardiac arrest, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and inspiration. Craig was larger than life—a man whose presence was felt in every room, every project, and every life he touched. His absence is an unimaginable loss, and his family is doing everything possible to honor his legacy and ensure his wife, Sherrie, isn’t left to shoulder this burden alone.
This fundraiser was a collective decision made by Craig’s immediate family as a way for those who loved, knew, and cared for him to come together and give back. This is not a cry for help—it is an opportunity to show support for Sherrie and the family during this incredibly difficult time. No matter the amount, your contribution is deeply appreciated and will make a meaningful difference.
Why We Need Your Help
Craig’s sudden passing has left Sherrie in a challenging financial position. While the family is doing their best to take care of everything, the reality is that Craig’s loss creates an immediate financial gap.
Your support will help cover:
• Funeral and cremation costs that were unexpected and beyond the family’s means.
• Medical bills accrued over Craig’s decade-long battle with his heart condition.
• Outstanding business expenses from Craig’s company, Craftsman Built Construction.
• Household bills so Sherrie can grieve without worrying about losing her home or falling behind.
• Bereavement support to give Sherrie the time she needs to process her grief without the pressure of returning to work before she’s ready.
Craig was not just a husband and father; he was Sherrie’s partner in everything. His sudden passing has left a void not only in her heart but also in their household, where his contributions were deeply intertwined with their daily life.
Craig’s Legacy
Born October 19, 1965, in Aloha, Oregon, Craig was raised by Patricia and Richard Hubbard alongside his siblings, Julia and Kent. Life tested Craig in unimaginable ways—he lost Kent, Kent’s wife Kim, and their two children Samantha (4), Cody (2) in a house fire in 1996, followed by his father’s passing two years later.
Craig’s resilience was unmatched. At 16, he met Sherrie, his sister’s best friend, and confidently declared that she would one day be his wife. His love for her never wavered. Together, they built a beautiful life in Portland and Central Oregon, raising three children—Zachary, Joshua, and Whitney—and creating a family bond admired by all who knew them.
Craig wasn’t just a family man; he was a beacon of hope and generosity in every community he was part of. Whether fostering kids unofficially to give them stability or helping neighbors in need, Craig’s selflessness defined him. He was the kind of man who made everyone feel important, valued, and loved.
As the founder of Craftsman Built Construction, Craig poured his heart into building a company that would one day provide for his family and others. He dreamed of transitioning to a managerial role and eventually passing on the business. Although his dream was cut short, his dedication and hard work leave a lasting impact.
A Life Larger Than Life
Craig’s love for life was contagious. He spent his final weeks in Hawaii, indulging in his passions—fishing, carpentry, and time with friends and family. It was his dream to move there with Sherrie, to enjoy the peaceful life they had envisioned together.
Craig’s passing leaves a void that words cannot express. He was bigger than life, and his love, laughter, and leadership will be missed by all who knew him.
How You Can Help
This fundraiser is a chance for everyone who knew and loved Craig to give back in his memory. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward:
• Helping Sherrie stay in her home and cover immediate bills.
• Paying off Craig’s medical and business expenses.
• Easing the financial burden so the family can grieve without additional stress.
Craig gave so much to others in his life. This is an opportunity to honor him by showing that same generosity and compassion to his family.
Thank you for your love, support, and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Together, we can help carry some of the weight Craig’s family is facing and show Sherrie that she is not alone in this journey.
Lastly, here’s a little memento for Craig!
