Crag Care Ottawa

MISSION STATEMENT

Ottawa Crag Care was founded in 2020 to develop and maintain Ottawa’s rock climbing areas.

In pursuit of this mission, we—

Raise and distribute money to help offset the material costs incurred by local crag maintainers.

Get our hands dirty maintaining trails, picking up trash, and generally keeping our climbing areas in shape.

Organize events to connect and strengthen the local climbing community and to promote climbing.

Communicate with local government and private landowners to ensure access to climbs.

We are guided by the principle that the rock belongs to everyone.

Want to help develop safe and accessible climbing around Ottawa? Consider donating. Climbing outside isn't really free and there are an assortment of expenses involved. Money donated will be used for access, bolting and route development expenses such as bolts, drill bits and hangars. All routes equipped with hardware supplied by this fund will be made public via documentation on thecrag.com in a timely fashion when it is safe to do so. All routes will be open projects if the developer cannot complete them quickly. The primary focus will be on moderate sport climbs and trad climbs accessible to most climbers.
