Read our story, here , if you are just visiting this page.
My husband and I lost a daughter on November 3rd, 2017, 6 months into my pregnancy while travelling overseas.
I launched a website sharing our story as a therapy project while Stephen was deployed. I gave myself the deadline of her 1st birthday. The intent of the website was to 1) share our story and 2) raise enough funds to donate a Caring Cradle in Florence's memory.
We had limited time with our daughter and would like to offer bereaved parents more time with their children by donating this device.
Because close to 29,000 families in the United States each year experience the loss of a baby as we have; it is our hope, to raise the funds needed to place one of these Caring Cradles in Women & Infants Hospital by 2019. Being a military couple, we chose the hospital from our home state and because this facility brought 4 of our 10 nieces/nephews into this world.
We want to help other families beginning this painful journey with allowing them more precious time with their little ones to say goodbye in their own way and on their time.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated. However, whatever isn’t covered, Stephen and I plan to match the difference to ensure this device is available to families. We will be donating the final amount to the hospital to secure the non-profit rate ($4,675 + $400 shipping) and hope to have a small dedication ceremony.
