Homeless, please help

Context: in my early 30s I developed treatment-resistant schizoaffective disorder. I also have PTSD from child physical and sexual abuse. I am actively receiving medical help through Illinois County Care but my housing situation is perilous and I've been sleeping under bridges and in shelters when there are open beds. I work in tech and it's very hard to plan interviews when my living situation is transient. Once I get back on my feet I'm sure I can get a good paying job. I just need help now. Thank you. 

I was staying with a friend for a month after moving out of my father's place as he was becoming abusive (he choked me and pulled a gun on me and started spouting crazy things about Nazism). Then, seemingly randomly (I later found out my friend was drunk and on a lot of amphetamines), my friend exploded on me and made me leave on the stop at 4 AM (he pulled a 12 gauge shotgun on me); I pleaded to stay but he would not back down and kept pointing a gun at me so I ran out without my shoes or possessions (he still has many of them and refuses to communicate).

 

Anyway, I'm staying at shelter when they have beds (Chicago shelters are very strict due to Covid) and sleeping outside at times.

I need the money for short term housing and to buy a cheap laptop I can use for interviews (tech interviews often require you demonstrate your skills via screen sharing and I only have a phone and a tablet which aren't suitable for interviews).

 

I just want to start a normal life again and with as little chaos as possible. Please help me if you can. Short term housing would also help but money is a little easier planning wise.
