On 1/2/23 my dad, Jeff Coates, was injured on a worksite. He fell off scaffolding and fell about 15 feet He has multiple broken ribs and had to have surgery to remove the pieces and repair the ribs with 3 metal plates He also has a collapsed lung, perforated diaphragm and fractured shoulder blade. Our dad is self-employed and does not currently have insurance, and is the sole provider for my younger sister. We both work part-time and are helping around the house as much as we can but we are only teens so there’s only so much we can do financially. Our dad has always been the man to jump right back up after getting hurt and push through the pain but he couldn’t this time.

We have loving friends and family who are helping with meals and making sure we are doing ok but we don’t know how we are going to get through the household and medical expenses. We are not 100% sure how long it will be before he can get back on his feet, the doctors have given us time spans from 6 weeks to 6 months. If anyone can help at all it would be appreciated more than you can possibly know.
