Help Jaxen Dance as UDA All American
Donation protected
Hey y’all, my name is Jaxen Waggoner I’m a senior in high school. I’m a Raiderette and Duck River Dancer from Manchester, TN and I’m looking to raise some money so I can participate in the UDA All American Event in Hawaii.
I’ve been dancing since first grade, but before that my passion for it started when I was 4 years old in the Red Raider bleachers. I had uncles and cousins playing football, so I was in the stands for years. My family always sat right in front of the dance team though. I was always one of those little girls trying to follow along and going to the workshops the team hosted. I started my dance classes in Murfreesboro, but the dream was still to be a Raiderette Dancer. As the years went on I switched studios to Duck River Dance where I’ve been in the dance company, a plethora of recitals, and The Nutcracker a few times.
When I got to high school, I went to the Raiderette try-out clinic, but I decided not to try-out for a couple different reasons. But when I attended the clinic I did hear about the Universal Dance Association (UDA) Camp that the team attended and the All American team formed there.
The UDA Camp is four filled days of dancing, dancing, eating, and some more dancing. It was the part I became most excited for if I ever joined the team. One of the special things about this camp was the All American team. At these camps around the country, hundreds of girls learn and make choreography to audition for this select team. When they audition, it’s with two other girls infront of the entire camp, coaches, and parents there. This All American team gets to attend special events and perform around the globe.
With the encouragement of a now-teammate and my best friend, over the past year I finally auditioned for the Raiderette Dance Team and went to camp. While there, I tried-out for the All American team and made it! This year the special event trip is in Hawaii for a ceremony honoring Pearl Harbor and how our nation has grown.
To get to the Pearl Harbor ceremony to perform as a Representative of Coffee County, I need your help. Anything you can give would mean a lot to me, my family, and supporters and get me one more step closer than I am right now. Thank you for your consideration, and possible donation.
