Liver Transplant & Recovery
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Ed Robbins. I’m 50 years old and manage a hotel on Chincoteague Island. As the manager of a family owned business, my main priority is ensuring that our guests have the best beach vacation the Eastern Shore can offer. Between running day to day operations, assisting with all the little things that create above and beyond experiences…to everything in between, I’m your guy on the island! Helping others is what I do best.
Here’s where I’ve come to humbly ask for your help. For the past few years, I’ve been living in and working through stage 4 liver failure. After a long road of countless doctors appointments, many hospital stays, and seeking out the best treatment team for care, I have been fortunate enough to be selected as a candidate for liver transplant.
The surgery will be intensive and followed by a recovery period of 4-6 weeks. And although surrounded by a strong support system of family and friends ready and willing to help, my candidacy for transplant will be denied unless I can afford to hire professional in-home health care to ensure the best possible outcome for the transplant to be successful. Through your support and generosity, I can make this all happen.
In addition to the mandatory in-home health care, donations received will go towards follow-up medical appointments, the required weekly hospital trips to Baltimore (6 hours drive round trip), medications, and any other necessary means of support throughout the recovery process.
To have a second chance at life thanks to the transplant, my close circle of friends helping me through it all, and your support means the world. Thank you - and looking forward to seeing you on Chincoteague soon where I can once again have the opportunity to live to the fullest, and get back to giving back!
