Coaches & Kits for Cerebral Palsy Kids

Tax deductible

Youth soccer coach Max Aken-Tyers is running the Brooklyn Prospect Park Half Marathon on Sunday 3rd February 2019 to help raise funds for the NYC Cerebral Palsy Soccer team.

Those of you who know Max know he's passionate about soccer and about helping kids with cerebral palsy. Max is originally from Newcastle, England, where he had experience coaching players with cerebral palsy.  He spent the last few years in Kentucky on a soccer scholarship and played for the Erie Commodores in PA. He is now a youth soccer coach in NYC.

When Max heard about CP Soccer in NYC, he knew immediately he wanted to help. Max is setting himself a challenge with this fundraiser, as this will be his first half marathon!

The Cerebral Palsy Soccer NYC team was founded in September 2018. We provide free soccer trainings for kids with ambulatory cerebral palsy. Kids with cerebral palsy who are ambulatory are often an underserved population. They are often squeezed out of soccer and team sports because they can't keep up with their able-bodied peers, but programs for kids with developmental delays are not always suitable for them. The Cerebral Palsy Soccer foundation was founded to help keep soccer in the lives of these kids. While CP soccer leagues are well established in the UK, Australia, and other parts of the world, there is no league in the US - until CP Soccer US started to build one. There are now five regional CP Soccer programs across the US!

Our NYC team need funds to help pay for coaches, jerseys and equipment for the team. For the 2018/19 season, $800 for jerseys, and $400 for equipment. We are aiming to reach a target of $2000, so we can cover for our growing team. Every little bit of support is tremendously helpful!

Please help support Max and CP Soccer to raise funds for these kids so they can keep soccer in their lives!
