Jason Dick and Wongka Neal
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Wongka and I am asking for help. Our beloved Jason recently passed on 5th of November 2022. Jason was a wonderful partner, father, brother, cousin, uncle and friend who touched the lives of those around him. We were absolutely devastated by Jason’s passing and we’re not prepared for the high cost of the funeral service. We want to give Jason the memorial he deserves, to honour his memory and say our last goodbyes.
We are asking for donations to help cover the costs of Jason’s funeral service. I’ve started a fundraiser to collect donations. We need to raise $14000 by Christmas to start planning his funeral service in the new year.
Please consider donating if you can, as any amount will truly help our family during this difficult time.
With love,
Wongka and Kitara.

Please take the time to read Jason’s story
Jason had been working with the Council for over 12 years. He worked most of his years at the cemetery and in our mowing crew. Jason would either make you laugh or would torment you and at times he was very hypo and full of energy. Although he had his struggles, he was extremely good at his job and was even put in charge of looking after the cemetery when the sexton was on holidays.
Jason had a partner name Wongka Neal, and a daughter name Kitara Dick who is 8 years old and has FASD just like her dad.
On the 5th of November after a night out with his mates Jason was walking home and became a victim of a hit and run and lost his life and still no one has come forward.
Jason was our brother, cousin and friend so for that reason we decided together and with his partner to set up a 'go fund me' page through Facebook and some of the guys have put it on Instagram. Jason did not have a will which means it would take time for his partner to receive his super and money owed to him by the Council to be released and have found that the 'go fund me' is moving at a slow rate. This had been hard time for Jason's partner Wongka with not having any answers about his hit and run incident and having no money to lay him to rest.
Alot of people keep telling us to go to the courthouse and get him buried but what they don't understand is that the government takes everything that the deceased person has such as his super, money in his bank and money owed to him from council as well as assets. Because Jason worked at the Council, we didn't want the government to have ownership of his grave and just be a number as we feel he deserves better, Jason helped a lot of people lay their loved ones to rest for over nine years while he worked at the cemetery.
On Sunday the 18th of December, 6 weeks to the day of Jason's death, his partner Wongka also lost her life and have now left their 8-year-old daughter without a mother and a father. Our focus now is to help their little girl put her parents to rest and to help support Kitara in any way possible.
