CPL Gavin Neighbor's Gravesite Restoration
Donation protected

Cpl. Gavin L. Neighbor was only 20 years old when he was killed during an ambush on 10 June 2003 in Baghdad, Iraq while serving as an Infantryman in the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. Gavin’s positive attitude and laugh were contagious. He inspired and continues to inspire, countless people around the world. His bravery and sacrifice to his country will never be forgotten.
On Memorial Day 2019, Gavin’s mother visited his gravesite. What she found was devastating. Gavin’s grave had been vandalized and desecrated. Thieves had stolen several of the meaningful statues that had been placed on his grave. These statues were left for Gavin by grieving family members and friends. Coins ceremoniously left by fellow soldiers were also heartlessly stolen.
The intent of this fundraiser is to raise the money necessary to restore Gavin’s gravesite back to the condition worthy of a man who heroically sacrificed his life for his country. Gavin’s mother is obviously shaken by the desecration of her son’s grave. For this reason, any additional money raised will go towards treating her to a much-needed day of self-care. Gavin is an American hero and deserves to be honored.
