Greeting DOCR Family, I’m creating this go fund me for a great colleague of ours Cpl. Charles Duffy who has been with the Montgomery County department of Corrections for approximately 7years now. Cpl. Duffy has been fighting a long-term illness for about a year now. Throughout the year he’s been continuously in and out of the hospital battling this illness. Cpl. Duffy has taken extend leave over the past year due to this Illness and now it has come to the point of which he has exhausted all leave options. Cpl. Duffy has been visibly struggling through this illness to report to work due to reasons of him risking a financial hardship being unable to maintain financially. As everyone know Duffy is a wonderful person and would do and give anything he can to help anyone in need. I’m asking that we all come together as a family to support our brother in blue, our colleague in his time of need. More than anything Cpl. Duffy needs to be at home resting, taking care of himself, and getting better. At this point in time anything, and any amount that you could donate would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, our department does not allow us to donate our own leave to other staff members anymore so anything you could donate will help. Cpl. Duffy is not the type to accept handouts, but again I’m asking if we could come together with taking care of our own. I’d like to thank you for your time and any donation that you desire.
