Help Save Alexandria's Taylor Run

Help Save Alexandria's Taylor Run

The Environmental Council of Alexandria (ECA) is raising funds to hire independent experts to review the City’s so-called stream restoration plan for Taylor Run. The stream is located near Chinquapin Park and T.C. Williams High School.

The ECA and other community activists are concerned that the proposed stream restoration plan will result in the loss of hundreds of native plants and trees and not provide significant improvement in water quality in the Potomac and the Chesapeake Bay.

The City should revise this ecologically destructive plan in consultation with the community, biologists, and watershed restoration experts. We must have a more balanced assessment of the environmental benefits and impacts of the project.

Taylor Run is a natural gem. It must be properly protected and preserved.

Your support is greatly appreciated.

The ECA is a nonprofit environmental organization based in Alexandria, Virginia.
