Ralph's Vet Bills

Hello,

My name is Ralph. I am a 1 year old dachshund.

I was told at the beginning of the year that I possibly had a luxating patella, after bunny hopping and not wanting to put much weight on my back left leg. I have seen the vet, and due to my fear and anxiety, I wouldn't let them examine me properly. They prescribed me some painkillers and anti-inflammatories which I have been on for a few months now, they have helped slightly but not entirely.

I have recently seen a physiotherapist, who has said that the issue is likely my hips and my knee issues are secondary. I also have a new lump on my spine. I need to have a x-ray to determine exactly what is going on, get a proper diagnosis and discuss the treatment options, whether that be continuing physio and hydrotherapy, more medicines, and/or surgery (which hopefully will be the last resort), and hopefully this lump doesn't turn out to be anything serious, as the last thing my mum and I want is IVDD or tumours!

I am insured, but unfortunately due to my knee issue starting in my previous policy, I will not be covered up to enough that is likely to be needed! Anything new hopefully will be covered by my new policy which is higher, but sadly, my mum doesn't have the funds to pay for everything up front and not all vets accept direct payments from the insurance company, unless it's over a certain amount or they require a certain amount up front first, and these funds just aren't available to her, due to her own disabilities and illnesses.

So, we are asking for some help...please! We don't want or expect much from anyone, and the shame that my mum feels for even having to create this and ask is unreal. However, she always donates where she can for other animals in this position, and there are some kind people out there that are happy to help, so if you do, we are entirely grateful. All money raised will be going towards whatever tests, treatments, operations, scans etc that I need that can't be covered by my current insurance policy.
