Hello my fellow dog lovers, my name is Joanne, my story is similar to many who have experienced the pain of loosing your best furbie friend, I lost my beautiful Ria at the end of September last year to health issues at only the age of 4. My other baby boy chunkz was depressed, it was heartbreaking watching him being withdrawn, sad with out his play mate. And I was in a bad place for a few months, it really hit me hard, as it was not expected.. Then at the beginning of January I decided to take on a rescue dog, with a past as they usually do. When she arrived,y heart melted seeing her pretty face, but she came with issues, in fact more than was expected.
She came with an abscess on her cheek from a previous dog attack, some skin allergies, there was a grown in her right eye, some lumps behind her ears, but worst of the worst...Ear infection in both ears, but her left being the most infectious infection possible. The charity helped with payment towards Ravens treatment given to date, which was, the growth removed and sent for biopsy (thankfully it was not cancer), blood tests to see where we were at with all her organs, (thankfully, the results came back saying she is all healthy) then the main issue, her ears! They were flushed followed with antibiotics, steroids and painkillers and drops for her ears. But her ears were so inflamed and infected the vets couldn't get right into the depth of the ears. Every day I cleaned her ears and have applied the drops. We returned to the vets twice now, to be told, this infection is just not clearing up, the tissue and ear canal inside are so damaged and to help save it spreading and her loosing her hearing, they recommend an operation to remove the damaged tissue and canal. It is a complex operation only performed by specialist vet surgeons. I spoke with the charity but, sadly they can not help with the payments towards this operation, they just don't have the funding. Which leads me to here!
- Raven is a 4 year old miniature Shar pei with the most beautiful nature, She was picked up from the streets by the pound and literally had 7 days for her owner to come forward after they contacting them.(she was microchipped but the owners were not contactable). Luckily on the 6th day, the charity took her in, and placed her with a foster, all was going well until their dog turned on Raven and this is when the issues began. She was then passed onto someone else, but her health was getting worse, I had spoken with person and was offered this baby girl. Without knowing the extent of Raven's problems. This operation will cost approximately £1,500 and I could seriously need some help towards this vet bill.. If you can help, please donate, but also please share this page far and wide, Raven needs your help and support helping her to a recovery and a loving caring home at last..
