Coyote attack in Huntington Beach

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Christa. I am fundraising for a horrific event on Sunday morning at 8 am. I took my two small dogs, Paquito and Sophie, out in my front yard to go to the bathroom in the same bushes they always do. My Chihuahua, Paquito, is always very close to me, and my other dog, Sophie, likes to chase dogs, so she was on a leash. While both doggies were relieving themselves, I looked over to see a coyote attacking my Paquito. I ran over to save Paquito when the coyote picked up my dog and ran down the street with him in his mouth. My other dog got off her leash and was chasing the coyote down the street at the same time. I fell pretty hard in the street chasing both my dogs; I thought my Chihuahua was gone forever. Luckily another neighbor from around the corner heard me screaming, saw the Coyote with my dog in his mouth and yelled at him enough that the coyote dropped my dog and ran off. When I found him, I thought he was gone. He was unresponsible and twisted up. I thought he would be paralyzed if he survived. Luckily I noticed his eyes were open and chest was moving, so I knew he was still with us. I immediately rushed him to the emergency veterinary hospital. Miraculously, after a full day of surgery he’s alive and slowly recovering. Paquito has staples around his neck and down his stomach from puncture wounds he suffered from the coyote. This was a very traumatic experience for me and my children. Worst nightmare ever !!!!
