Cox Family Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Kim, and I am fundraising for my great-niece Charlie who was admitted to the ICU at Miller Children's Hospital on Thursday, 6/30. Long story short, she was complaining of her ankle hurting earlier in the week, and her parents treated it as potentially a sprain. Then, come Wednesday night, she spiked a fever, and her ankle began to swell. So her mom took her to urgent care Thursday, and by the end of Thursday, she was admitted to the PICU. Since being admitted, we have been told that she had an infection in her joints, causing a blood clot in her leg. After a CT scan, they found a spot on her lung, and she was rushed into surgery on 7/3. As of today, 7/4, she is still intubated and sedated from the surgery, and we are waiting on blood culture results and hoping that she will go back into surgery tomorrow, 7/5, to close the wounds they left open to drain her leg. This GoFundMe aims to help her parents, Josh and Candace, solely focus on being there for Charlie and not having to worry about the financial burden this will cause them once it is all said and done.
